Isa. 66:24

24 And they shall go forth [yatsa'], and look [ra'ah] upon the carcases [peger] of the men ['enowsh] that have transgressed [pasha`] against me: for their worm [towla`] shall not die [muwth], neither shall their fire ['esh] be quenched [kabah]; and they shall be an abhorring [dara'own] unto all flesh [basar]. KJV-Interlinear

24 Then they shall go forth and look On the corpses of the men Who have transgressed against Me. For their worm shall not die, And their fire shall not be quenched; And they shall be an abhorrence to all mankind. NASB

When Christ returns at the Second Advent, He will slaughter huge numbers of evil humanity. People will die by the billions. This will be their legacy, to rot, to be eaten by the worms, to stink.

Who will die? Those who have ignored, and in effect rejected, God, Christ, doctrine, and in short, truth.

Remember what truth includes. Not only does truth include Jesus Christ, the one and only true God and Savior, but truth includes all aspects to understanding the differences between right and wrong, good and evil, responsibility and irresponsibility, integrity and deceit, and so forth.

Truth includes all that God has invented and put into place for the preservation of humanity and history. This includes the Laws of Divine Establishment. Laws, which were set into place parallel to, and in opposition to, the Laws of the Jungle.

Establishment laws include volition, marriage, family, nationalism, patriotism, law and order, and due process. It includes concepts such as freedom and liberty, and the prices that must be paid in order to secure them. Freedom never comes free. Freedom not fought for or defended, can easily be lost.

Establishment laws include all of the principles of science that rule this universe, from chemistry to physics and more.

For every true principle of God, there is an equal and opposite principle of evil, which tries to distort and destroy truth. Whether that evil principle is homosexuality in opposition to marriage, or gossip in opposition to the right to privacy, makes no difference. Evil is evil is evil. And, all that evil intends is the destruction of truth.

Evil may promote its right to speak out or act, but that is a pretense and simply a cover to do more evil and to destroy.

The destiny of evil?

Here Isaiah summarizes the destiny of all who oppose God, in whatever form.

Throughout history, humanity has tried to build empires, in opposition to Gods plan and the ultimate establishment of His rightful Kingdom.

Throughout history, politicians and leader want-to-be s have battled for positions and authority, just to have their own security for their own life. They speak the words for the better good for their constituents or citizens, but they, in general, are only interested in themselves.

Only God can promote in life. Only God can demote from life. All of humanities ego and social struggles for positions, and power, and notoriety, whether in social gossip circles, or in celebrityship, or in religion or philosophy, or in government, will eventually come to nothing.

Their destiny? Piles and heaps of corpses.

This destiny occurs throughout history for individuals at the end of their individual lives, and at the Second Advent, it will occur for all of the accumulated evil, which will be at its peak, at the Second Advent.

What is the destiny of humanity? To reach the stars? To advance to some higher level of understanding and morality? No. Man s destiny is to get more and more evil as time goes on. The Tribulation will be the culmination of that path.

When faced with the return of Christ, something that many folks ridicule, and laugh at such a silly idea, evil will hold its ground. When faced with certain destruction, evil will hold its ground. When staring directly into the Lake of Fire, evil will not repent, will not change, and will not see its own flaws. Evil will remain defiant clear to its end, and it will hold on to its defiance even after its end.

Evil s worm shall not die, And their fire shall not be quenched.

And yes this is a reference to the worms that are common to decay, and the fires of the Lake of Fire which will never end, but this is also to the attitude demonstrated by evil folks who will simply never, never, never change their ways.

One might think that when history comes to an end, that people will see their hopelessness and see their very real and harsh destiny, and thus plead with God, believe in Christ in their last minute panic, and get saved. But that is not the case.

People around the world have an understanding of right and wrong. People around the world no what is responsible and what is not. People around the world know what is legitimate, and what is a crime. And we have excellent examples of this kind of defiant evil, in the form of terrorists who hate for no real reason, and defiantly refuse to see their efforts as being wrong.

Evil is not restricted to terrorists, however. Anyone can be included in this category even by being self-righteous. Evil has a very broad spectrum of followers.

Just as death and decay have a stench that is disgusting and revolting to the senses, so too, evil is a revulsion to life and truth.

We can see evil in the form of terrorists, in the form of opinionated and confused politicians, and in many forms in our day-to-day lives. The mere repetition of the news can be revolting and disgusting at times.

The summary of all that Isaiah has said in these last few chapters and even in his entire book, is that there is only one answer to life s problems, and that is faith in the Savior, and pursuit of, and residence in, ones spiritual life.

Evil is everything, repeat, everything that is in opposition to that. Everything that is not perfectly in line with truth, is evil.

For those who comply with Gods will, there is nothing but happiness and blessing and much, much more.

For those who embrace evil, there is nothing but a pile of corpses, and everything that goes with that, extending in every direction to beyond the horizon.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
