Job 4:17-18

17 Shall mortal man ['enowsh] be more just [tsadaq] than God ['elowahh]? shall a man [geber] be more pure [taher] than his maker [`asah]?

18 Behold, he put no trust ['aman] in his servants [`ebed]; and his angels [mal'ak] he charged [suwm] with folly [toholah]: KJV-Interlinear

17 'Can mankind be just before God? Can a man be pure before his Maker? 18 'He puts no trust even in His servants; And against His angels He charges error. NASB

There are two categories of intelligent beings, man and angels. Not all other categories of creation, have the life characteristics that these two have.

For with man, the life is in the soul and with animals, the life is in the blood. We presume that angels follow something of a similar pattern as man, since they are presently superior to man.

Lev. 17:11

11 'For the life of the flesh is in the blood NASB

Mans body is formed out of the dust of the earth. 'Adam,' means common red dust. And from Adam, or dust, we all sprang.

Dust does not have the ability to make itself better than its components. Certainly, dust does not have the wherewithal to invent, design, or do better than its Maker.

Likewise, man is trapped by his living environment of gravity, air, food and water, among other things. Without these, none of us can exist.

Angels on the other hand, can exist without gravity, air, food and water. They are not trapped by the environment of planet earth. They have bodies of superior components, the nature of which we have no clue.

Angels can travel between heaven and earth, at speeds, which we cannot even begin to imagine. They can be seen or made invisible, yet they can see our every move.

Man is trapped by the four dimensions of width, depth, height, and time, while the angels seem to operate within an entirely different dimension unknown to us. Angels have never experienced death, nor even birth. They were all created simultaneously a very long time ago. By our standards and calendar, they are extremely old, and yet they never age. They are just as fit today as they were when initially created.

Given that, they are far superior to man, one would think that God would have some level of trust in them. Likewise, their abilities to manage a planet should far exceed ours. However, that is not the case. Not even one angel, carries the trust of God, for they all failed to some degree when Satan rebelled.

'His servants,' means those who serve God in heaven. That is, the angels.

God will not even place angels in charge of planet earth, despite their superior form, intellect, and abilities. If the earth were placed in the care of the angels, they would fail in its management.

Now by implication, this says that the angels did in fact fail. The details of their failure are not given, so we have to read between the lines and fill in the empty space.

We know that Lucifer was the highest of the angels and he failed. We know through extra-biblical evidence that there was life on planet earth prior to humanity. That life being the dinosaurs and such. They all became extinct.

God manages the planet today, and man will not be allowed to become extinct, however man will come very close at the end of the Tribulation. The rule of planet earth, during the Tribulation, will be under Satan.

Therefore, the dinosaur age, which did fail, must have been under the management of the angels, who failed in their effort. And they had far less, and far fewer issues to manage during that time of animal life, than the planet has now, with humanity on it.

So what of Cro-Magnon and Neanderthal, who lived during the dinosaur age? Well, genetic evidence has already determined that neither of these have the same genetic markers as present day man. Thus, we have the 'missing link' theories in evolution. Where is that link and how did present day man come about?

Of course, these theories reject the creation of Adam and Eve as totally independent acts of God. No one even considers the possibility that both Cro-Magnon and Neanderthal were nothing more than animal forms. Animals die out and become extinct, humans do not. They became extinct and therefore they are not human.

Is this a reasonable assumption and is it consistent with the Adam and Eve creation, which occurred after the extinction of all life on planet earth in the Ice Age? Yes.

The Bible teaches us the order of all creations. First came the angels, then the universe, then life on planet earth, then earth 'became' null and void, then the earth was restored in six days with the creation of Adam and Eve. How do we know that the earth was not created void?

Isa. 45:18

18 For thus says the LORD, who created the heavens (He is the God who formed the earth and made it, He established it and did not create it a waste place, But formed it to be inhabited), 'I am the LORD, and there is none else. NASB

God created the heavens perfect. Satan destroyed them as a part of his fall and judgment. Then God restored the earth in six days.

Therefore, the angels, as Eliphaz states here, could not be entrusted with the administration of one little planet earth, let alone the universe. They failed in their first and only attempt, when they had only animals to rule, and man though we are but dust, are still a much more valuable entity. How much more so? Christ Himself will humiliate and humble Himself and become a man, and then one day, will elevate us all to positions far superior to even the angels.

2 Chron. 16:9

9 For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His. NASB

Matt. 24:36

36 'But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. NASB

Jesus Christ controls history. God himself takes no counsel in any created being, but operates by means of His own perfect counsel.

If our thoughts are not precisely the same as Gods, then ours are in error.

Man is nothing more than dust, and infinitely inferior to the essence of angels. Angels are superior to man, but angels are infinitely inferior to God. Angels being superior to man, failed in their rule over dumb animals. Where does that leave humanity, in the big picture?
