Job 9:3

3 If he will [chaphets] contend [riyb] with him, he cannot answer [`anah] him one ['echad] of a thousand ['eleph]. KJV-Interlinear

3 'If one wished to dispute with Him, He could not answer Him once in a thousand times. NASB

Is anyone able to stand before God, face to face, and have a frank and open discussion on a level that is equal for both?

No.

When God speaks to Job, later in this book, through the whirlwind, he will ask him several questions, 'Do you know? Can you do?' and to none of them will Job have an answer. God can easily demonstrate the stupidity of the greatest pretenders to wisdom, and God can do it with the simplest of questions.

He did it in Job's day, when technology was virtually non-existent, and He can do it even today, when humanity has a great deal of knowledge with regard to the fundamentals of the universe. But even what humanity knows today, does not even cover the pin point tip of the iceberg.

God can pose a thousand questions and to none of them will we have an answer, an accurate and correct answer that is.

People will often offer their complaints, their opinions, their doubts with regard to God, to a deity, to anything that seems to fit the supernatural. Folks want immediate answers, even immediate results to their requests, and God does not play the role of the genie for our conveniences.

Long ago, God existed. He created all of the angels in an instant of time, and they all existed in perfect harmony. Then God created the universe and the angels were witness to that great event. Yet, Lucifer became dissatisfied and led a rebellion against God. All of the angels failed during the series of events that followed. Satan was judged as he remained defiant against Gods right to judge him.

Humanity was introduced into the picture, to settle the dispute.

And so throughout history, Satan has posed one complaint after another, one opinion after another, one grumble after another, one excuse after another. Human history has to run its course and use up all of Satan's complaints until Satan finally runs out of excuses.

In the end, God will demonstrate Satan's incompetence and error in thinking. Simultaneously, God will demonstrate mans error in thinking.

God has set up such a phenomenal set of strict standards with respect to righteousness and justice, that no created being can possibly stand before His indictment.

Rom. 3:23

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, NASB

If a thousand offenses were charged, man could not vindicate himself in even one. Gods eye can penetrate all thoughts, feelings, motives, actions. Nothing escapes his sight.

We cannot set aside any single charge as foreign, as frivolous, as false, or as simply padding for the indictment. We cannot deny and plead not guilty, or confess and secure our own self-justification.

What can dust and air do? What can dust and air boast?

What is it that you know, more than anyone else?
