You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Job 11:17-19

17 And thine age [cheled] shall be clearer [quwm] than the noonday [tsohar]; thou shalt shine forth [`uwph], thou shalt be as the morning [boqer].

18 And thou shalt be secure [batach], because there is [yesh] hope [tiqvah]; yea, thou shalt dig [chaphar] about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest [shakab] in safety [betach].

19 Also thou shalt lie down [rabats], and none shall make thee afraid [charad]; yea, many [rab] shall make suit [chalah] unto thee [paniym]. KJV-Interlinear

17 'And your life would be brighter than noonday; Darkness would be like the morning. 18 'Then you would trust, because there is hope; And you would look around and rest securely. 19 'You would lie down and none would disturb you, And many would entreat your favor. NASB

God looks at our life from the perspective of eternity. Even if we were to live a hundred years, that number is nothing when compared to the trillions of trillions of trillions of years plus, of eternity.

From our perspective, our life probably seems like a roller coaster ride. We have most likely all had our high points in life as well as our low times. We learn from both of course, and if you are normal, you prefer the better tines.

But right now, Job is at an all time low. We have already gone over the magnitude of his suffering, so we won't repeat it here again.

Zophar is now symbolizing Jobs situation as one who is living under a dark cloud, one living under the gloom and doom of a dark, dismal, dreary night. That is a picture of our life in this world, regardless of what your circumstances might be.

Zophar suggests here that if Job turns his life around to God, then the darkness of the night, will turn into the promising brightness of the morning, and then continue to improve throughout the morning as the sun rises to its peak in the afternoon.

Life will just get better and better and better. The darkness will never again return and the sun will never set.

Out of obscurity the promise of hope, which is the early morning, replaces the gloom and despair of night, which symbolizes the misery and troubles of this life. And then that promise of hope turns into the realities of blessing, which is the sun rising to its zenith.

From our perspective, this describes spiritual growth. Even though this world will throw its roller coaster at you from time to time, God always has a solution for every situation. He prepared your solutions in eternity past and simply awaits you to experience them first hand.

From Gods perspective, looking at life into eternity, then faith in Christ, leads to spiritual growth opportunities, leads to spiritual maturity, leads to the completion of our life, in this life, leads to our life in eternity, and in eternity, our growth and blessing will continue to grow and increase exponentially forever.

The world has nothing better with which to compare or offer.

By ignoring your daily Bible study, then you are by default, choosing what the world has to offer. Which is nothing.

By turning your life to a daily study, and thus to God, you are in effect lifting your life out of the despair offered by this world, for that is the best the world has. You are looking to the bright morning sun which is Gods promise and our confident hope. You will realize in your life, the phenomenal blessings in many different categories, which God has prepared for you for this life, and especially the blessings which will exceed your imagination for eternity.

And therefore, you will 'lie down,' at rest, as the worlds roller coaster rushes past. Your worries and problems have already been taken care of by God.

God will dig an entrenchment, an entrenchment for an invincible army, permanently placed for defense. An army sized entrenchment just for you.

And there you lay down in perfect safety, in perfect prosperity, in perfect happiness.

Happiness is your ultimate goal. But it must first be preceded by your positive volition toward God and doctrine, followed by your proactive role in a daily study of His Word. This produces courage in the battle against the enemy of sin and death, which brings freedom, which brings liberty, which brings opportunity, which brings prosperity, which brings security, which brings happiness.

This is true within the temporal realm, and it is certainly true in the spiritual side of life, which is the far more important side of your life.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
