Job 12:13

13 With him is wisdom [chokmah] and strength [gabuwrah], he hath counsel [`etsah] and understanding [tabuwn]. KJV-Interlinear

13 'With Him are wisdom and might; To Him belong counsel and understanding. NASB

With God is wisdom, power, counsel and understanding. But more than just being his possession, He is those things.

Might is the power, the mastery, the unlimited depth of force with which to accomplish anything, anytime, anywhere.

Counsel is the perfect ability through perfect prudence, to advise, guide, direct, recommend, advocate, even warn or encourage.

God possesses all of the facts of history, past, present, and future. There is nothing that He does not know. God cannot be caught unaware. God cannot be caught by surprise. God cannot be caught off guard.

What you already know, but we are going to reinforce in our thoughts, is that God controls history. God controls everything that occurs. He controls by means of three things, which we have already studied - direct control (His essence), indirect control (principles of establishment), and permissive control (human volition).

In eternity past, God laid out a perfect plan for all of history. He looked down through the corridors of time and saw every possible thought, decision, and action by men and angels. God saw every possible configuration of history, placing everyone in various settings. God saw all of this, and then He decided on the best historical course for each and every person. That plan became the Divine Decrees, which it is known as in Christianity.

God saw your entire life, and He has already seen your every move in history. God knows you better than you know yourself. God made provisions for every aspect of your life.

Jobs contrast here is mans wisdom verses Gods wisdom. Man has to learn as he advances through life. And man has no clue as to what tomorrow will bring. Sure, we can presume that tomorrow will be very similar to today and to yesterday, but we do not know for certain. It is only because of Gods reliability and control over history, that we can make presumptions about tomorrow.

Man has no power or control over the tomorrows of history. The best anyone can really do, is to wait until each tomorrow comes along.

God knows everything, and God never had to learn anything. He has always known everything. There has never been a time when He did not know everything.

God can give and God can take away in an instant or over time, at His pleasure. He is the fountain and the source of wisdom and power, and through His will, we can either profit, or endure great loss, by acknowledging Him and His plan, or by rejecting them.

Much of the Old Testament describes the strict adherence necessary to align oneself with God, and His powerful and sovereignty to control everything. The New Testament describes the personable, caring and grace side of Gods character.

There is only one God in essence, and three persons in the Godhead. God has always been the same in personality, character, and essence, and He will never change. On that we can gain great confidence, both in God, and therefore in our own personal future.

Everything that God does for us, is for our best interest.

And that is the bottom line. Our reliance and assurance for our own self, as to what kind of a life we will have both here in this world, and especially in eternity.

We live in this world, and we can gain an understanding of it, and we can know that no matter what circumstances we encounter, if we have been faithful in the little things in our life, that means if we have been faithful in our daily Bible study and spiritual growth, which does not take much effort on our part, then God will be faithful in the big things, our life and our eternity.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
