Job 13:25-26

25 Wilt thou break [`arats] a leaf [`aleh] driven to and fro [nadaph]? and wilt thou pursue [radaph] the dry [yabesh] stubble [qash]?

26 For thou writest [kathab] bitter things [marorah] against me, and makest me to possess [yarash] the iniquities [`avon] of my youth [na`uwr]. KJV-Interlinear

25 'Wilt Thou cause a driven leaf to tremble? Or wilt Thou pursue the dry chaff? 26 'For Thou dost write bitter things against me, And dost make me to inherit the iniquities of my youth. NASB

A fallen leaf is something, which is insignificant. The stubble of the field is something, which is insignificant.

Will God bother with anything so insignificant as these?

Furthermore, God writes bitter things against Job, as he states. The writing is a legal term for the recording of the charges, the infractions, the violations, the indictment, the court proceedings, the decision, and the judgments as they are handed down with their finality and with no further appeal.

What is man that God should care for him, that God should deal so harshly with him? What is man but the dust of the earth, given life, courtesy of God, to one with total depravity, total insignificance, and totally meaningless?

What is man, but one who walks on two legs, on an insignificant planet, in a galaxy which is small by galactic standards, and not even a speck in the night sky?

Why should God record the history of such a creature, record the sins, the works, the infractions, which in themselves are insignificant, and even collectively are insignificant so far as this universe is concerned.

Humanity cannot command his own birth. Man cannot command his own death, nor even defeat death. Man cannot even measure or detect his own life soul, and yet it exists within each and every one of us.

Man cannot control the beat of his own heart, nor the growth of a single hair on his head. Man cannot control the weather, nor anything within his environment. Man cannot prevent meteors from crushing him into nonexistence. Man cannot control the temperature on any given day. Man cannot really do much of anything, and yet man thinks very highly of himself. A speck of dust in the vast and infinite cosmos. A cosmos, which God created in an instant, and out of nothing.

Job asks the questions. No one replies. Why does God even waste his time with humanity?

Your life is more valuable than you think. Most folks waste their lives by ignoring God. The one who created all that is.

And in the few short years that we have on this earth, those few short insignificant years, when compared to eternity, each one of us has the opportunity to turn our individual lives from being insignificant historical filler, into significant and extremely valuable lives which God Himself values most of all.

How do you suppose that, that can be accomplished?

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
