Job 15:30

30 He shall not depart [cuwr] out of darkness [choshek]; the flame [shalhebeth] shall dry up [yabesh] his branches [yowneqeth], and by the breath [ruwach] of his mouth [peh] shall he go away [cuwr]. KJV-Interlinear

30 'He will not escape from darkness; The flame will wither his shoots, And by the breath of His mouth he will go away. NASB

In total light, you are able to see everything. In total darkness, you can't see anything, you have to guess at everything.

In total light, you have reference points from which you can guide and measure yourself. In total darkness, you guess and guess again. You have no frame of reference, and therefore you can't know from where you have come, nor to where you are going. You can't see an origin and you can't see a destination. You are totally lost in darkness.

God is light. Everything else is darkness. There are only two opinions in this universe - Gods opinion, and everything else.

Within the framework of Gods opinion, which comes from the Bible and through ones fellowship environment, everything in life is opened up for your viewing. You have orientation to life, to truth, to God, to people, and certainly to yourself. You can discern between good and evil, right and wrong, up from down, science from absurdity, truth from lies, the spiritual from the non-spiritual and so forth.

Within the framework of darkness, which excludes light by the way, you cannot clearly distinguish right from wrong, truth from lies, and so forth. You draw wrong conclusions, make wrong decisions, and cannot clearly see the facts of any matter. Masses of people elect wrong people. Leaders make wrong decisions, and consequently the threat of trouble becomes greater and greater, until sooner or later, the lid of turmoil blows off.

In total darkness, and that is where you live when you reject or ignore Gods Word, there is no escape, no solution from ones own abilities.

In darkness, the flames of trouble brew constantly. There is no rest, no timeout, no peace, no security, and a whole lot of invented and imagined truth, which is not truth.

And then, as Eliphaz states here, the wicked person, the negative person, will die from something as small as the breath of Gods mouth. Here breath is an exhale. You can probably blow out a candle with your breath, but not much more than that.

It doesn't take much for God to snuff out your life, in other words.

For those who take themselves seriously, for those who think very highly of themselves, for those who boast at their possessions, their talents, their wealth, their status, for those who think highly of whatever it is that they have or are, or think they are, then along comes a puff of breath, and out their lights go.
