You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Job 15:33

33 He shall shake off [chamac] his unripe grape [becer] as the vine [gephen], and shall cast off [shalak] his flower [nitstsah] as the olive [zayith]. KJV-Interlinear

33 'He will drop off his unripe grape like the vine, And will cast off his flower like the olive tree. NASB

Grapes and olives are two fruits that have been well known throughout history. They are fruits for eating, for cooking, and they are ingredients for making various other foods and beverages.

Grapes and olives represent the products of a productive vine or tree. Successful production means a good harvest and prosperity for all concerned. Poor production means a bad harvest, and no prosperity for all concerned.

When the grape vines or olive trees begin their new production for the season, they first produce a flower or bud of sorts. The grapes develop into small unripe and hard little grapes, and the olive tree produces a flower readying it for pollinating, which leads to the creation of the olive.

Both plants have to face the weather, its rains, heat, or wind, and when these ingredients come together at the wrong time, then the grapes, which are still small and unripe, get knocked off of the vine and the flowers of the olive likewise get knocked off of the tree. Some production gets started but fails, other production never gets started.

This leaves both with no production. Since their purpose if to produce their fruit, then they as plants are worthless if they do not produce.

Such is the spiritually negative person. Every persons purpose in life is to generate spiritual fruit, or spiritual production. When a person does not, then they are no different than the unproductive vine or tree. They are worthless.

All vines and trees are exposed to the storms and pressures of life, but some are weak and succumb to the worlds pressures.

And so it is with people. Those who lack doctrine in their soul, cannot hold up against the onslaught of the world. They give in, as it were, and they become nothing more than historical filler. They are worthless as far as history is concerned.

They do not produce good fruit. Most don't produce anything in their life. Therefore they fail in their original purpose and design.

This is the case with all unbelievers, and with all believers who are negative, anti, or indifferent toward their spiritual life. The only production of the negative believer is their faith in Christ. That is enough to save them at least. But salvation is only a part of ones spiritual life. Believers have to grow up in order to have a full and complete life.

By ignoring God, Christ, and doctrine, you are in effect throwing away the very foundation and mechanism of your spiritual productivity.

If you had a vineyard or garden, would you continue to water and nurture non-productive plants? No. Your garden is designed to produce. If you want pretty then you plant pretty flowers. If you want grapes, then you plant grape vines. Those plants that do not do their job, are pulled up and replaced with plants that do.

The source of spiritual production comes from residence in fellowship and growth. You confess to reside in fellowship, you study to learn and grow, and then you apply what you learn to your life. That application transforms into your spiritual production.

Doctrine in the soul builds up your garden within your soul. Your using the principles of doctrine in your daily life, becomes your production.

So, which are you, a plant worth keeping or a plant that needs to be thrown away?

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
