You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Job 21:13

13 They spend [kalah] [balah] their days [yowm] in wealth [towb], and in a moment [rega`] go down [chathath] [nachath] to the grave [sha'owl]. KJV-Interlinear

13 'They spend their days in prosperity, And suddenly they go down to Sheol. NASB

And so, spiritually negative people enjoy the many graces which God has given them in this life, but they do not recognize that it is God who is the source of their prosperity. They all feel that it is of their own effort, of their own ingenuity, of their own luck as it were, that they have what they have, that they have accomplished what they have accomplished, or that their status is just, because they deserve it.

Then, the moment of death catches up with them. They may approach death in any of a number of ways. Some might be sick for years. Some might be caught up in an accident. Some may just grow old and fall asleep for their last time.

Whatever their situation, all people die and the moment of death is just that. An instant.

And in that instant, your soul (in the case of unbelievers), or your soul and spirit (in the case of believers), leaves your physical body, permanently. The physical body remains behind and decays.

Sheol is a general word standing for the land of the dead. It is in the underworld, which is commonly called Hades.

In Hades, there are four prison compartments. In history prior to the Cross, unbelievers went to Torments when they died, and believers went to Paradise. Tartarus and the Abyss are the other two compartments.

To this day, all unbelievers remain in Torments as it is still receiving new residents, as unbelievers continue to die in history.

Immediately following the Cross, Jesus went to Paradise and led those captives, those prisoners of history prior to the event of salvation, out of Paradise and into heaven. That would have been an incredible victory parade after the fashion of post war victory celebrations are held with parades and so forth.

Paradise is now empty and will never be used again. Only fools today seek Paradise, something that was a temporary prison anyway, though a good place to be in, and that has been discarded permanently by God. Heaven is a far better place. And that is where all believers now go directly to, since the victory of the Cross.

So, negative people, or people who are generally negative toward God, are allowed to live their life in this world. They are allowed to prosper or otherwise enjoy all of the good things that this world has to offer.

And don't misunderstand, there are many good things in this world which are there for our enjoyment.

But to those who seek enjoyment immediately, anything of a spiritual nature is simply uninteresting to them. Anyone can live, and live even in prosperity, and, even in neglect of God. The world is not restricted to believers only. At least not yet.

Anyone can be a spiritually negative person. All it takes is to ignore the teachings of the scriptures.

And ignoring the scriptures can come in many forms.

You can be indifferent. You can presume that they do not apply to you. You can be defiant toward the scriptures. You can pursue some other belief or philosophy. You can take the view that you don't need the Bible. You can invent your own form of philosophy or beliefs. You can take the Bible and simply change or twist its meanings to your advantage.

Whether you are an agnostic and don't think that anything spiritual can be proven, or if you are an atheist and don't believe that there is any form of higher deity, or whether you believe in a god but prefer your own invented deity, or if you just don't care one way or another, all of these and many more like them, make you a spiritually negative person.

There is only one truth. There is only one God. There is only one spiritual life. And anything contrary to the one and only legitimate faith and truth, is a lie. Even pretending, being sincere, or giving lip service won't help your spiritual life.

The fact of life, which you cannot get around, is that one day you will die. You will leave this world bound for another place. And in order to get into heaven an ID is required in order to get in. You get your ID and credentials so to speak, the moment you believe in Christ.

But, your earthly bags are not admitted. All of your worldly belongings are left behind. The only thing that you are allowed to bring into heaven is your soul and spirit and its content. That content, if Bible doctrine will translate into phenomenal blessing. Any garbage build up in your soul will be burned off at the Judgment Seat of Christ.

But what do negative people say? What is their attitude? We'll cover that, tomorrow.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
