Proverbs 3:21-26

Lesson # Proverbs 3:21-26
Study Material - Proverbs 3:21-26

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Prov. 3:21-26

21 My son, let them not depart from your sight; Keep sound wisdom and discretion, 22 So they will be life to your soul, And adornment to your neck. 23 Then you will walk in your way securely, And your foot will not stumble. 24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid; When you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. 25 Do not be afraid of sudden fear, Nor of the onslaught of the wicked when it comes; 26 For the LORD will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught.

Let 'them', What 'them' is he talking about. The 'them' is wisdom, understanding, knowledge. The three components of learning and the components which direct your ability to comprehend, decide, and apply doctrine to life.. These do not come to any of us automatically. We are not born with them. We have to learn them.

And the warning or better put, the strong advice of not letting them depart from your sight. Keep them, because they guide our lives constantly. They set the stage for our personal destinies. Fools reject God making statement like they do not want someone else making decisions for them, that they want to decide their own destiny. But no one can steer a correct course if they have no map, no compass, no destination, and no idea as to how to get there. Yet in their arrogance they reject Gods map and guidance.

We do not let God force us to do anything or go anywhere. But we submit ourselves freely to His will and command, because God has total knowledge of what is best for us, and what course is best for us to take. We make our own decisions. We make our own choices. We, with doctrine, simply have a clearer picture of the facts and are able to make our decisions based on wisdom, and the correct wisdom at that. We have the ability to avoid the pitfalls of this world by choosing to stay inside Gods palace, in fellowship, under His protection.

Gods wisdom is the single most important and valuable thing in existence, therefore they should be held close to our hearts and always in front of us on a daily basis.

Wisdom gives us a frame of reference for understanding how things in life fit together. Wisdom, helps us to make the right decisions and to be able to determine right from wrong, to know which choice we should make.

Gods wisdom is the life foundation of your soul. A healthy soul has doctrine in it. He who rejects God, lacks doctrine in his soul and is therefore unhealthy in his soul. All of the problems in life which impact on us all, are even more intensified in their magnitude to the weak person, the person who lacks doctrine.

People often place jewels and gold on themselves to make themselves prettier, or more appealing to others, but remember we are the dust of the earth. How can you adorn dust which blows away in the wind? God on the other hand views doctrine in our soul as the ornaments of beauty, of eternal beauty, of inner beauty, which cannot be taken away.

As we learn doctrine, our souls structure is built up of the basic ingredients of this knowledge. As we apply doctrine to our life, this becomes the furnishings in our soul, the completion of the otherwise empty house. It becomes the production the Bible always talks about, the production of our soul. Production is not helping a little old lady across the street, but comes from constantly thinking doctrine and applying it to your life, which may include helping that little old lady. It is the attitude combined with the action which counts. Action without the proper attitude is meaningless. The proper attitude without the action is meaningless. The completeness of your life takes both working together synergistically, to produce more than either contributes.

Then, verse 23, you will function in life securely, in fellowship. Never forget that part. You will make the right decisions, and when you hit trouble, you will have poise. You will not fall. And even if you do get stuck, you think nothing of it, you get right back up and move forward, not backward. No poor me stuff. No shaking or worry about the threat that something or someone might pose for you. You move forward and let God work out the details. You endure.

You lie down and relax in your thoughts. Worry flees you, the anxieties disappear, your confidence grows, your insecurities fade into nothing. You become strong, mature. You understand the world around you and the imperfections in it. You understand the types of peoples around you. You understand the problems you might eventually face in life. You are alert and you have no fear about the possibilities of things in the future, either good or bad. You are able to receive and deflect the arrows that are shot in your direction.

In fellowship, God is your defender, your confidence, your front line of defense and attack. The promise is that you will not be caught. God will defend and deliver. Your foot will not stumble into the slavery control of sin.

'Call to me, and I will answer you and show great and mighty things'. Believe it!

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
