Prov. 7:1-5

Lesson # Prov. 7:1-5
Study Material - Prov. 7:1-5

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Prov. 7:1-5

1 My son, keep my words, And treasure my commandments within you. 2 Keep my commandments and live, And my teaching as the apple of your eye. 3 Bind them on your fingers; Write them on the tablet of your heart. 4 Say to wisdom, 'You are my sister,' And call understanding your intimate friend; 5 That they may keep you from an adulteress, From the foreigner who flatters with her words.

Straighten out your attitude toward God and His word. Orient to truth and not to just that which you can sense through your human senses. We all can hear, see, feel, taste, smell, but there is a greater sense in existence, a spiritual sense. And that comes only from learning Bible doctrine.

In this world there are limits. We are born and we die. That is the ultimate truth. Everything else you do in this world is for naught, if you fail to look beyond your death.

Why would anyone work and hustle in life, just to lose it all when they die? Especially when there is a greater promise in front of you, and all you have to do is learn about it. Bible doctrine is that greater promise.

Therefore we are well advised to seek out that which will not only help us to live a fuller life in this world, but also help us to come out the ultimate winners in eternity. So, desire doctrine more than you desire anything in your lust pattern. Seek is out as you would gold just around the corner.

Bible doctrine is treasure. It can't be seen, felt, or tasted, but it is more real than anything tangible in this life. It is more real than anything that you can accomplish in this life.

By keeping Gods commandments, we live in the truest sense of living. In life we look all around us and we either see the truth - things as they really are in life - complete with an understanding of God, creation, the angelic conflict, mans role in that conflict, mans purpose in life and what happens after death into eternity, and a lot more.

Or you can look at life and see an 8 to 5 job, annual vacations, a portfolio good or bad, fun on the weekends, your entertainment in life, retirement, convincing yourself that this is all there is, and even the disappointments and frustrations when your plans do not work out the way you want them to.

Keep Gods teaching as the apple of your eye. Turn around is only fair. We are the apple of Gods eye, Psa. 17:8, and even more than that. Beware to those who mess with Gods apples, Zech. 2:8.

In life people seen to want to chain themselves to their sin natures - which is a life style that pursues everything excluding God. It is a deterioration of the soul because the soul needs food, spiritual food, in order to be healthy. A soul without the proper food is a sick soul.

So we are strongly advised here by Solomon, to bind Gods words to our fingers - actively pursue spiritual information through your daily study. Want it. Desire it. Don't go to sleep without a little taste each night.

Drug addicts can't get enough of whatever it is they are hooked on. But drugs are destructive to ones life. Why not have the same insatiable desire toward Bible doctrine and gain only good as a result?

Doctrine is family, the sister to us all. It is the one who responds to us with a positive attitude, and embraces us as we gain understanding from our learning process.

What is the objective of doctrine? To preserve us. To keep us from the temptations of our sin nature. The sin nature is represented by the adulterous who cares nothing about your life, but only her desire. She tantalizes you, then destroys you. Only wickedness comes from the sin nature, as we have already seen in the psalms. So now learn from the advise given and seek that which preserves life - Bible doctrine.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
