Prov. 8:12-14

Lesson # Prov. 8:12-14
Study Material - Prov. 8:12-14

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Prov. 8:12-14

12 'I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, And I find knowledge and discretion. 13 'The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way, And the perverted mouth, I hate. 14 'Counsel is mine and sound wisdom; I am understanding, power is mine.

Wisdom, 'chokmah', dwells with prudence, 'ormah', and through it finds knowledge, 'da-ath', and discretion, 'mezimmah'.

Jesus Christ is wisdom, He is the living word in whom we believe for our salvation ands to whom we look to for our eternal inheritance. But more than that we are to receive Him inside of our souls, thus we have our regular Bible study to learn Bible doctrine (Gods word, Jesus Christ the written word), and in so doing we build up a house, a temple in our soul made out of Bible doctrine.

As we learn Bible doctrine we store it away for application to life's experiences. We develop morals for our conduct, norms and standards for our daily lives. We treat people with respect and equality. But we are not ignorant of the possibilities of their taking advantage of us.

We develop a shrewdness which allows us to live our life with prudence (wit and discretion). Knowledge develops as we live from day to day, learning constantly as we go. Our opinions are held in check, that is, we are not overly opinionated to the point of being rude or intrusive in others lives. We live with discretion in that we let others live their lives - live and let live or impersonal love for all mankind (loving one another in other words), which is to say we tolerate others regardless of their personalities, beliefs, and so forth. We do not sit in judgment, nor do we gossip or malign others. We do not seek revenge or retaliate against others regardless of what they have done to us personally.

We are not to roll over and let others push us around, certainly. For we hold our ground as a responsibility to our selves, to our family, our jobs, etc. We defend our nation in times of war to preserve our freedoms and liberties, and especially to preserve our access to Gods Word.

This is wisdom which belongs to any who advance to spiritual maturity. It does not come automatically, but must be learned by means of repetition of study over time, and maintained by even more repetition throughout our lives.

The world is constantly swirling around us and never sleeps, so we do not drop our guard, but maintain our daily study habit in order to maintain our spiritual status.

We develop a policy of thought, which is hate of evil. What is evil? The policy of the sin nature. Therefore we maintain our status in fellowship which means that we are under the control of the Holy Spirit rather than the sin nature.

The policy of evil has a foundation which is arrogance, the father of all its offspring whether human good or sin. To think that you can become acceptable to God by means of your own 'goodness' is the quintessence of arrogance. To think that the world owes you something therefore you turn to crime is the quintessence of arrogance. Arrogance is the basis of all human good and sin, for from it evolve all other trends of wickedness. Wickedness is the production of evil.

From evil comes wrong thought patterns, then spoken words in hate , in contempt, in jealousy, in deceit, and so forth, then followed by overt actions. Evil is a path to degeneracy. No matter what you think you are in life, if you live in accordance to evils policy, then your life is going down hill, and that is a definite certainty.

There are two sources of knowledge - Gods word and everything else. God is the only source of truth. In life there are truths which God invented called the sciences, physics, and such like that. These define and guide the universe in its actions. They are intended for man to discover in the natural course of history and then to marvel at Gods wisdom. Unfortunately man discovers these truths and then seeks to interpret their origin as something that it is not. So that which God has invented is perverted and twisted into a lie which mankind follows as his guide in life. Man should be following Gods word as the guide rather than arbitrary interpretations from science.

God is the only source of counsel. Counsel is good advice given to help one follow a sound course in life. A sound course begins with the securing of eternal life and deliverance from eternal condemnation. This by means of believing in Jesus Christ. A sound course continues with establishing a life guided by wisdom, which is accomplished by a daily study program in Bible doctrine. A sound course concludes with achieving spiritual maturity in life and maintaining it to the end of ones life, then carrying a soul and spirit filled with Gods wisdom, into heaven and eternity.

Bible doctrine is that wisdom, that understanding, that power, which is doctrine learned, and applied to ones life in order to build up and reinforce ones understanding and spiritual growth in life.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
