Prov. 8:32-36

Lesson # Prov. 8:32-36
Study Material - Prov. 8:32-36

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Prov. 8:32-36

32 'Now therefore, O sons, listen to me, For blessed are they who keep my ways. 33 'Heed instruction and be wise, And do not neglect it. 34 'Blessed is the man who listens to me, Watching daily at my gates, Waiting at my doorposts. 35 'For he who finds me finds life, And obtains favor from the LORD. 36 'But he who sins against me injures himself; All those who hate me love death.'

There are two ways to approach life. You can approach it from your own energy, or from Gods energy. By your own energy you take your chances in the jungle of this world. You may be born rich or poor, healthy or unhealthy, connected in places of privilege or unconnected, smart or not so smart, with physical talent or not so talented. If this is your choice than you subject yourself to the rules of the world - to hustle to get ahead, to be subjected to the prejudices of your peers and others. In this scenario very few make it to the higher stations in life, most live in poverty or in the middle classes, surviving from pay check to pay check. All are exposed to the jungles challenges in life, the luck of success, or the bad luck of catastrophe, which eventually visits everyone.

Verses 32 to 35 addresses those who choose to follow Gods energy. But God has rules as well. Not so intense or arbitrary as the rules of this world (the jungle I call it), but rules that everyone are capable of following, with no exceptions for physical ability, or mental ability of social status or size of ones pocketbook. There are no prerequisites with respect to human capabilities or rank. Only ones volition to want to learn about God and then to follow through with listening to His teaching, and then keeping (applying to ones life) His teachings as the guide for ones daily life.

Listen, learn, apply, are the three ingredients of maintaining spiritual consistency in ones life. Keeping an open mind, being teachable are two hurdles that generally make people stumble and fumble in their spiritual life. They hear things that they do not agree with, then they react to those concepts and instead of just pushing them aside until a time when they are either further supported or discredited, people get angry and leave their Bible study altogether, or they turn to other sources that may be less accurate.

At the same token if you hear things that are just way off the wall, then you should indeed depart from that false teaching and seek more accurate teaching. If your heart is true (and God knows when our are truly desirable of His word or whether you are just putting on a show), then God will lead you to an accurate Bible study.

But you have an obligation to be consistent in your daily study. Daily at the 'gates', as those who await the commerce, blessings, of the city. Constantly on station at the door posts as servants stand at their post awaiting the next command of their master. So we have our responsibilities to learn, and grow, and apply what we have learned to our daily lives. We have a responsibilities to wait on Gods commands, on Gods timing for our lives, to remain in fellowship so as to be always in Gods presence and therefore always at His disposal.

What comes to those who follow after Gods energies? Blessings, Gods favorable treatment, life, eternal life and so forth, are the results of the spiritual life.

To ignore God is to hate God. When you reject God you love death, the wages of death - misery, doom, destruction of your own life. The negative person is his own worst enemy.

The positive person has nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
