Prov. 12:19-21

Lesson # Prov. 12:19-21
Study Material - Prov. 12:19-21

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Proverbs 12:19-21

19 The lip [saphah] of truth [emeth] shall be established [kuwn] for ever [ad] : but a lying [sheqer] tongue [lashown] is but for a moment [raga] .
20 Deceit [mirmah] is in the heart [leb] of them that imagine [charash] evil [ra] : but to the counsellors [ya`ats] of peace [shalowm] is joy [simchah] .
21 There shall no evil [aven] happen [anah] to the just [tsaddiyq] : but the wicked [rasha] shall be filled [male] with mischief [ra] . KJV-Interlinear

19 Truthful lips will be established forever, But a lying tongue is only for a moment. 20 Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, But counselors of peace have joy. 21 No harm befalls the righteous, But the wicked are filled with trouble. NASB

In our current proverb, God continues listing the characteristics that are common to wicked vs. righteous people. You should note, if you haven't already, that God uses only two categories to identify mankind. We are either in the wicked category or we are in the righteous category. There is no in between.

But remember that when we studied the Parables of Christ, that in heaven, when we all get there, there will be rewards given out wherein some will receive none, some will receive a little, some will receive a little more, and some will receive 100% of their allotted reward.

Believers who advance to spiritual maturity will not only receive all of their predetermined reward, but they will participate in the re-distribution of the reward that normally would have gone to those who receive none.

So in life there are two categories of people. Those who are positive toward God and doctrine, are folks who are willing and genuinely interested in pursuing their spiritual life to the point of maturity. And the other category is filled up with everyone else.

All unbelievers are in the evil category. All believers are split up in both categories, depending on their attitude toward God and doctrine. Positive advancing believers are the righteous. These are the folks who confess their sins regularly and remain in fellowship, and they study without missing a day, just as you wouldn't go a day without skipping a meal, or a snack or something to sustain you.

Those believers who are not so inclined to pursue their spiritual life, become imitators of unbelievers. They may be believers and saved, but without doctrine in their soul, or a nominal amount, they walk and talk and act just like any other unbeliever. They live their life mostly out of fellowship and so act and think no differently than any unbeliever.

The righteous then are those who study and learn and utilize Bible doctrine in their daily lives. No, they do not go around saying 'praise the lord' and 'hallelujah' and 'amen brother.' That is kind of superficial and phony. They just live normal lives, but with doctrine in their souls.

That doctrine lasts forever, because it is from God, therefore the words that emanate from their mouths, are based on the content of their soul, and that is truth.

This is a pattern of a life style. You cannot take an isolated snap shot of someone and say that, that is their life. Ones life is a pattern or trend, of the cumulative thoughts, actions, and decisions, that people make over the course of time.

Everyone fails sooner or later. The difference between a mature believer and one who is not, is that the mature believer will recover and continue their advance. All others will not.

The mature believer will advance not only in this life, but they will continue to advance in eternity, as well as receive their eternal rewards which are also great, or beyond great.

Those who do not advance to maturity live their life in a blink, or for a moment, as the proverb says. Their life, even if they live to be a hundred, is but a moment in time when compared to eternity.

Since they invest their life now, in the pursuit of their own selfish opinions and interests, and disregard their life in eternity, then they give up their eternal reward. That gives them the title, 'fool.'

By the way. You can ask yourself, 'In which category am I?' Are you a smart investor, or are you a fool?

The fools deceive themselves. They pursue life without God. Or they pursue life with only a bit of influence that comes from God. God is the only source of truth, and ignoring God, being indifferent toward Gods Word, being apathetic, having your own opinions with regard to what you think should be right and what should be wrong, being defiant, being any or all of these, means that you pursue life in self deception.

No one can get along in life without the support of God. You did not design nor schedule your own birth. You cannot know the course of your life from year to year - even from moment to moment. You do not know the moment of your death, not can you prevent it.

When you leave your body (at death), you will be in a totally helpless state. Angels will guide you to your determined destination.

The righteous, will have joy in their life. Does this mean that they will never see hardship? No. Life in this devils world brings hardship to everyone. But to positive believers, the repercussions of evil do not trap them, nor will the righteous be bound by wickedness.

The world will come and go. The world will give us all its best shot. But to those who are positive toward God and advancing in their spiritual lives, that best shot of the world is impotent. They will not be bound to the evil consequences that follow.

Therefore, 'no harm' falls on the righteous. No enduring harm. This life is but a blink. Survive the blink and you'll be abundantly rewarded in eternity.

As for those who are not so inclined to pursue their spiritual lives. Their life will be tied to trouble, and their eternal reward, if any, will be only a small fraction of what it could have been.

This is the epitaph of the fool:

'Could have been. Could have been. A life of wrong choices, cancels what could have been.'

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
