You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Proverbs 13:4-5

4 The soul [nephesh] of the sluggard [atsel] desireth [avah], and hath nothing: but the soul [nephesh] of the diligent [charuwts] shall be made fat [dashen].
5 A righteous [tsaddiyq] man hateth [sane] lying [dabar] [sheqer]: but a wicked [rasha] man is loathsome [ba'ash], and cometh to shame [chapher]. KJV-Interlinear

4 The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, But the soul of the diligent is made fat. 5 A righteous man hates falsehood, But a wicked man acts disgustingly and shamefully. NASB

People who are negative toward God are the sluggard or the slothful. They are lazy with respect to the pursuit of their spiritual life. They are indifferent. They are apathetic. They are defiant. They are not interested. They think that the necessary requirements that God demands are unnecessary. They compromise truth for the convenience of their own beliefs.

The negative want all of the things that we all want. They want security, and happiness, and success, and wealth, and so forth, but they reject Gods provision. They take it upon themselves to pursue these things from the energy of their own efforts, or from the wishful thinking of their desires.

But by ignoring God, they write their own epitaph in failure. They end up life with nothing to show for it. Sooner than you think, time passes by very fast and they end up thinking of themselves as a young person trapped inside an old body and wondering, 'What happened?' They have in effect become nothing more than historical filler.

The positive person, the one who pursues his spiritual life as though it were his only possession of great value (because it is), looks not to himself for success and all of those other things mentioned, but looks to God who gives them all freely and with certainty.

Fat means plenty. Fat means more than one could ever utilize. It is similar to the word, abundance, which we have studied before. Abundance is the provision of more than one could ever use in an infinite number of life times. Needless to say, that is a lot.

When the positive believer advances to maturity then he discovers that God does all things in life for him. Just as the Israelites with their backs to the sea, were helpless before the charging Egyptians, a wall of fire surrounded them to protect them. The Israelites escaped through the power of Christ, and the Egyptians ceased to be a power among nations right then and there.

The hate of the positive believer is more of a disgust or a disappointment in the opinion of the world. He recognizes lies for what they are and is disappointed in those who fail to recognize the lie and in those who actually pursue the lies of the world. Life is amazingly clear to the mature believer. And why others refuse to see the truth of life is beyond them. Arrogance, defiance, and indifference are among the usual suspects in the failure of ones spiritual life.

Everything in life which is a thought, decision, or activity outside of the fellowship sphere, is classified as shameful and disgusting. Those who live outside of the fellowship sphere of the spiritual life never realize the stench of their own odor. Most filthy people cannot smell themselves. They never realize that they are offensive. They perceive themselves as normal.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
