You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Proverbs 13:9-10

9 The light [owr] of the righteous [tsaddiyq] rejoiceth [samach]: but the lamp [niyr] of the wicked [rasha] shall be put out [da`ak].
10 Only by pride [zadown] cometh [nathan] contention [matstsah]: but with the well advised [ya`ats] is wisdom [chokmah]. KJV-Interlinear

9 The light of the righteous rejoices, But the lamp of the wicked goes out. 10 Through presumption comes nothing but strife, But with those who receive counsel is wisdom. NASB

The blessings, comforts, and happiness of people who are advancing in their spiritual lives, are built upon solid foundations of truth and orientation to reality. They continue forever and are not affected by circumstances of life.

Whether a person is rich or poor, in good health or bad, lives in a free society or not, so long as they pursue their desire for Gods word in obedience to Gods mandates, then God will bring blessing which is appropriate to them. Remember that the spiritual life is a condition of the soul, not of the external circumstances of life.

God is the sovereign of all that is. Angels were created to rule all of creation, but they lost that right at some point in eternity past, with the fall of Lucifer. Man was then created to be made greater than the angels and to rule over all that is beneath mankind, but in submission to God. All of creation beneath mankind was created to serve mankind, but to the glory of God, not to the glory of man.

We should see in the things of this life, all that is available to serve us, and of which God has made provision. The mature believer knows from where all things come and to whom the glory of life belongs - namely God through Jesus Christ.

The happiness of mature believer is eternal because it is based on the eternal God who provides it. It is not dependent on the circumstances of life which can change like the weather.

The negative believer on the other hand, looks to the universe in a different light. He looks to things, rather than God for his happiness. If things are available then the person is happy. If things are not available then the person is not happy. Any happiness of the negative believer is limited to the duration of the existence of their things.

A joke lasts just so long. Financial wealth lasts just so long. Ones physical life lasts just so long. And in all of these and more, there is no assurance of just how long they will last. Perhaps a few minutes, perhaps a few decades. Whatever their duration, they all end. The negative believer is in effect a slave to the circumstances of his life. Happiness of the world is a pseudo happiness, a fools dream. It glows for a while, like a good joke, but then it is no more.

Presumption comes from pride. Pride makes men impatient and contradictory in either their opinions or their desires. Pride makes men impatient in competition, impatient in contempt, impatient in concession, quarrelsome in their human relations with family, friends, neighbors, strangers and so forth. Men seek justice but really want revenge. They will not forgive, because they are proud. They look to their own opinion and look no further.

This is the state of anyone who disregards Gods Word in their life. Even a partial concession to Gods word is not a concession. Those who pick and choose what they will recognize and what they will not, are presumptuous of their own superior wisdom. They are wrong, and nothing but contentiousness and adversarial relations between themselves and God exists.

Those that are humble, peaceable, practicable, oriented to life (positive believers) are wise and well advised. Their counsel comes from their daily study of the Bible.

Those that are teachable will ask and take advice, will consult their own consciences, their Bibles, their friends, and so forth, and will do nothing rashly. It is those who are wise. They will humble themselves, will stoop and yield, in order to preserve quietness and prevent quarrels.

Bible study is the ultimate counsel for life. The scriptures offer truth and orientation to reality.

The world offers nothing more than emotion and subjectivity, to which end is strife and frustration.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
