15 The eyes [`ayin] of the LORD [Yahovah] are upon the righteous [tsaddiyq], and his ears ['ozen] are open unto their cry [shav`ah].   KJV-Interlinear

15 The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry.   ESV

The world that we live in is too great and too powerful for anyone of us to make it on our own. Therefore we need something or someone that is greater than this world, and on our side, in order to survive and get by in this life.

We are overwhelmed with limitations, beginning with our limited life span, and continuing with our natural or learned abilities, and then we have to deal with life and people and circumstances from day to day.

We live on the edge as it were, in that at anytime, we can fall into a great deal of trouble and lose everything, with very large odds against our recovery.

Our first line of defense is becoming a member of the greatest family of all time, namely the family of God. This we accomplish by believing in Christ. Only takes a moment to be born and so it only takes a moment to believe in Christ and enter into the protection of Gods family.

Our second line of defense is by growing up in our spiritual life within the environment of Gods family, which we call fellowship, and in so doing we advance in Gods plan for our life, fulfilling our meaning and purpose in this life, preparing us of the next and greater life.

Our third line of defense, is achieving spiritual maturity, wherein we receive maximum blessing from God.

So, you can reject Christ and have no one on your side in this world, and therefore be consumed by the world, ending up with nothing.

Or you can believe in Christ and begin the journey through your life, as God guides you by means of the doctrine that you learn, and have a greater life than you can even begin to imagine.

God helps the righteous, not the unrighteous. And the difference between righteous and unrighteous usually means believer and unbeliever, but it also refers to obedient believer versus disobedient believer.

So even as a believer you can still miss out on Gods blessing if you tend to ignore His mandates.

The very best of all worlds is in attaining spiritual maturity wherein you have the greater share of Gods attention and help. And this is by far preferred rather than having less or no help at all.

Without Gods help, you are at the mercy of the world and the world has no mercy for anyone.

With Gods help, then the world has virtually no control over your spiritual life, and therefore your destiny is secure.
