Psa. 110:4

Lesson # Psa. 110:4
Study Material - Psa. 110:4

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Psa. 110:4

4 The LORD [Yahovah] hath sworn [shaba] , and will not repent [nacham] , Thou art a priest [kohen] for ever [owlam] after the order [dibrah] of Melchizedek [Malkiy-Tsedeq] . KJV-Interlinear

Psa. 110:4

4 The LORD has sworn and will not change His mind, 'Thou art a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek.' NAS

The Lord 'has sworn.' The Lord swore a holy oath, a promise which cannot be broken. He will never change His promise. He never makes promises that He cannot keep. God has the ability, the power, the resources to keep all of the promises that He does make.

The Bible is filled with promises that God has made to each one of us, but the most important are those which concern the Fathers relationship with the Son.

In eternity past, God decided on a plan. In theology that plan is called the Divine Decrees. It incorporates all thoughts, intents, decisions, actions, events, everything that will occur in history. God looked down through the tunnel of time and considered in His omniscience, every possible alternative for history. He decided on the best alternative, the one which works out everything for the best for each person in history. Only each one of us can mess up the life that God intended for us.

In that plan, God decided that all approach to Him would be through the Son. Thus we have the means of our salvation. 'Believe in Christ and thou shalt be saved.' There is no other means.

Certainly there are a lot of religions out there in the world, lots of beliefs, but anything not in accordance with Gods established plan, the one on which He swore, the one on which He will not change, then those beliefs which reject Gods plan are false and therefore lies, and totally worthless.

There is but one access to God, and that access is by means of a priest. But no ordinary man can represent man before God. Man is unholy. What is holiness? Righteousness (sinless perfection) plus Justice (payment for all transgressions). Only one person can occupy that office of intercession between man and God - Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

God promised and Christ fulfilled that promise. The order of Melchizedek is the pattern of Christs office. Actually there are two offices He occupies. The first is that of Priest, or High Priest. The highest office in the land. And the second office is that of King. A royal office of authority and power. Melchizedek had no documented predecessor. He had no documented successor. Jesus Christ has always been and always will be the one and only link we will ever have available to the Father.

Th office of Priest is in view here but it is not inseparable from the royal office of King.

The priest represents those who cannot represent themselves, to God. The priest has the power and authority to offer gifts, blessings, sacrifices, make holy that which is unholy, to mediate, to make atonement, to recommend service and action on behalf of man, to God, and much, much more. Only one person is qualified to occupy that office - Jesus Christ.

Don't be fooled by those who would have you think otherwise, or would have you think that 'they' have authority to make such decisions. No other human in history has ever had nor will ever hold that office. All human priests have a responsibility to teach the principles of Gods Word, and nothing more. They cannot forgive. They cannot bless They cannot even hear your confession. Might as well confess to your dog for that matter.

All things pertaining to the spiritual life must be directed to the Father through the Son, and we accomplish that in prayer, and study, and application of His Word to our daily lives.

God is consistent. God is certain. God is dependable. God is fair. We have only to study and learn and grow up spiritually.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
