Zeph. 2:3

Lesson # Zeph. 2:3
Study Material - Zeph. 2:3

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Zeph. 2:3

3 Seek [baqash] ye the LORD [Yahovah] , all ye meek [anav] of the earth [erets] , which have wrought [pa`al] his judgment [mishpat] ; seek [baqash] righteousness [tsedeq] , seek [baqash] meekness [anavah] : it may be [uwlay] ye shall be hid [cathar] in the day [yowm] of the LORD'S [Yahovah] anger [aph] . KJV-Interlinear

3 Seek the LORD, All you humble of the earth Who have carried out His ordinances; Seek righteousness, seek humility. Perhaps you will be hidden In the day of the Lord's anger. NASB

Evil people can be certain of only one end to their life, and that end is not going to be a good one. Good people, those who perceive themselves as good, cannot be certain of preservation when times get tough. Some might survive, but many will slip into and be eaten up by the difficulties that the world will unleash on them.

Righteous, by the Bibles definition, people can be sure of deliverance and preservation in difficult times.

But there is a rule by which God will evaluate everyone as to whether they are going to be in the category of 'righteous.'

Righteousness is not defined by ourselves, nor is it an overt expression or appearance of piousness. Righteousness is Gods Word functioning within your soul. It is from God, never from yourself.

'Seek the Lord,' means just that. It reflects a genuine desire to pursue knowledge which is far beyond our earthly ability to perceive from our own energy. Spiritual knowledge comes only through the application of the mechanics of learning spiritual information, that mechanism which was invented and followed by God. Which is simply salvation first, and the fellowship perpetually in your life. Fellowship is the sphere or learning environment in which you learn, grow, and apply the spiritual life.

Some might think that they need only be saved by believing in Christ, and that is all that is necessary in order to have a spiritual life. Not so. We have studied this thoroughly. Here we are commanded to seek (keep on seeking), and to seek him early, seek him diligently, and continue seeking Him throughout our life. This is not the principle of salvation. Believing in Christ takes only a moment in ones life and once saved, then always saved. So once you believe in Christ, then you are born again (spiritually) into the family of God.

You need only be born one time in order to have a new life. You were born only once in your physical life and look at you now. Here you are. You don't have to be born from your momma over and over again in order to justify that you are human. Likewise in the spiritual life, you need only believe in Christ once in order to be saved.

After salvation however you must grow up spiritually, and that requires a lifetime of eating spiritual food, learning, applying it to your life and repeating the same routine (the circle of wisdom) daily throughout your life.

Eat right (study doctrine) and exercise (apply it to your life) and maintain your hygiene (fellowship) and you will be all right and within Gods will for your life. Don't do these things and your health (spiritual health) will fail.

It is not enough to simply gather together, to attend church on Sunday's, to read a Bible study or Bible story once and a while, or even to read the Bible daily. You have to comply with Gods rules for spiritual growth. Otherwise you won't grow up. You cannot invent or superimpose your own rules for growing up. You cannot decide that you will grow up spiritually, your own way. That is no different than a person compromising the spiritual life with some other social behavior they deem 'Ok' so long as it doesn't harm anyone else. That is a false concept. You cannot pick and choose what you will comply with and what you won't. The spiritual life is not a buffet from which you can choose only the things you wish to believe ad follow.

The spiritual life is Gods way 'only' or no way.

Deut. 16:20
20 Justice, and only justice, you shall pursue, that you may live and possess the land which the LORD your God is giving you. NASB

Deliverance, reward, blessing, come only to those who comply with Gods Will.

Isa. 26:20
20 Come, my people, enter into your rooms, And close your doors behind you; Hide for a little while, Until indignation runs its course. NASB

Gen. 7:1
1 Then the LORD said to Noah, 'Enter the ark, you and all your household; for you alone I have seen to be righteous before Me in this time. NASB

Psa. 27:5
5 For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; NASB

Psa. 31:20
20 Thou dost hide them in the secret place of Thy presence from the conspiracies of man
NASB

Isa. 32:2
2 And each will be like a refuge from the wind, And a shelter from the storm, Like streams of water in a dry country, Like the shade of a huge rock in a parched land. NASB

Isa. 51:1
1 'Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness, Who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were hewn, And to the quarry from which you were dug. NASB

We don't have all the time in the world to get our act together. Judgment (our life's end) comes quickly and the proper attitude which we should all take is one of fervent desire to learn and to grow up spiritually as though today (each day of our life) is the last opportunity that we will have to accomplish it.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
