Zeph. 3:12-13

Lesson # Zeph. 3:12-13
Study Material - Zeph. 3:12-13

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Zeph. 3:12-13

12 I will also leave [sha'ar] in the midst [qereb] of thee an afflicted [aniy] and poor [dal] people [am] , and they shall trust [chacah] in the name [shem] of the LORD [Yahovah] .
13 The remnant [sha'eriyth] of Israel [Yisra'el] shall not do [asah] iniquity [evel] , nor speak [dabar] lies [kazab] ; neither shall a deceitful [tormah] tongue [lashown] be found [matsa] in their mouth [peh] : for they shall feed [ra`ah] and lie down [rabats] , and none shall make them afraid [charad] . KJV-Interlinear

12 'But I will leave among you A humble and lowly people, And they will take refuge in the name of the LORD. 13 'The remnant of Israel will do no wrong And tell no lies, Nor will a deceitful tongue Be found in their mouths; For they shall feed and lie down With no one to make them tremble.' NASB

Zephaniah reveals another characteristic of the Millennium, and that is the moral character of the people who will be alive on earth and entering into the Millennium.

No more will there be the predominant pattern of sin and evil living. All the lusts, all the self righteousnesses, all the arrogance, all the criminal tendencies, all the catty behavior, all the lies, selfishness, and deceit which are so characteristic of this current world, will be gone.

Will these folks be perfect? No. They are human of course. But they will be a people who have lived through the purging fires of the Tribulation, a people who have survived on virtually nothing but faith in God and have trusted in Him to carry them through the worst time ever in human history.

They were hiding in the mountains, defending the city of Jerusalem, hiding in cellars, doing whatever they could do in full compliance with the commands which God gave them, 'run immediately to the mountains.' And they did not compromise their Biblical values in order to survive in the Tribulation.

The Tribulation is of course future to our current day. When these folks enter into the Millennium, then the Tribulation will be in their past, though it is future to you and me.

With the life they were living in the seven years of the Tribulation, they will in effect be receiving intensive training in humility and trust during that time. The dramatic events of the Tribulation (the bulk of the world now dead) will provide the mental impressions that will be so ingrained in the souls of these survivors (the remnant) that they will continue to live in their faith, in their humility, and without any tendency or desire to return to the former 'get all you can, while you can, dog eat dog, world.'

Their values will be changed because they simply have nothing left from the former world. They will be poor in the worldly sense. But they will be rich in the spiritual sense.

James 2:5
5 Listen, my beloved brethren: did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? NASB

The initial generation of the Millennium will be strong spiritually.

As they begin to travel to Jerusalem, and assemble there, they will be able to live day and night without fear of robbers, for they are all gone. They will be able to travel without fear of wild animals, for they (the animals) are in the process of being changed as well. They will be able to eat because there will be sufficient food available to them as they travel and finally arrive in Jerusalem. The foods will be available from the vast armies and sinful peoples who populated the world. The homes, the stores, the supply depots will provide enough food and fuel to keep this first generation fed and operating for seven years.

Ezek. 39:9-10
9 'Then those who inhabit the cities of Israel will go out, and make fires with the weapons and burn them, both shields and bucklers, bows and arrows, war clubs and spears and for seven years they will make fires of them. 10 'And they will not take wood from the field or gather firewood from the forests, for they will make fires with the weapons; and they will take the spoil of those who despoiled them, and seize the plunder of those who plundered them,' declares the Lord GOD. NASB

The fears that are common in our day, work related fears, of bills, of crime, of being taken advantage of by anyone, fears of insecurity and such will all be gone. Jesus Christ will be living on earth in Jerusalem. The angels will be visible and scurrying here and there. Folks in their resurrection bodies from the Church Age (members of the Royal Family) will be doing whatever they (we) will be doing. Life will be totally different, needless to say. Now you can begin to understand the shouts of happiness in the next verse, but more on that tomorrow.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
