Psalms 5:11

11 But let all those that put their trust [chacah] in thee rejoice: [samach] let them ever [`owlam] shout for joy, [ranan] because thou defendest [cakak] them: let them also that love ['ahab] thy name [shem] be joyful [`alats] in thee. KJV-Interlinear
11 But let all who take refuge in Thee be glad, Let them ever sing for joy; And mayest Thou shelter them, That those who love Thy name may exult in Thee. NASB
The wicked, anyone who lives their life out of phase with God, whether dysfunctional believer, or unbeliever, have nothing in life to turn to, for help or protection from the elements of the world.
And the elements of the world are many. Whether you are rich or poor, talented or not, there is nothing in his world that can guarantee even a single tomorrow for you. You live your life on borrowed time, and God does all of the lending of life.
But the positive believer, the mature believer, the one who is legitimately advancing in their spiritual life, it is only this person who has the unlimited favor (grace), of God.
They (you) live in an adversarial world, but they (you) simultaneously live inside of the refuge of God. And that is the place of the very best security anywhere. This refuge exists inside the fellowship sphere, when you are in fellowship (obtained through the confession procedure).
Out of fellowship believers, and certainly all unbelievers, do not have this refuge protection, with respect to the things that can occur in this world. All believers are of course, safe in their salvation. But dysfunctional believers lose out on the blessings of life, in this life, in this world.
The song of happiness, comes only from the content of the soul, and a healthy soul sings from the content of the spiritual life that has been constructed from doctrine.
Shelter, is the protection of God for spiritually advancing believers. It is a roundabout protection, regardless of the circumstances of life.
You live in this world and in this world Satan runs things. As such, there is no guarantee of any good thing in life from this world. There is no guarantee of health, of an education, of work, of survival, or anything else.
But through God, and from God, there is a guarantee of doctrine and the opportunity to advance to spiritual maturity. This advancement is in your soul, and as such places certain guarantees for you, for eternity. That is your goal in this life, to prepare for eternity. And of that, God protects your investment, your spiritual life.
The world will try to get you to leave doctrine, to give up, to quit God, to blame God, but if you stick to your studies, through all of the unfair situations that you will certainly face in life, then, God will make certain that you will enter into eternity, with a full accounting of your blessings, and more.
In God (doctrine), is joy (fulfillment completion of your life). You will not get that from this world.
