Lesson # Dan. 2:20-23
Study Material - Dan. 2:20-23
You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.
20 Daniel answered and said, 'Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever, For wisdom and power belong to Him. 21 'And it is He who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men, And knowledge to men of understanding. 22 'It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him. 23 'To Thee, O God of my fathers, I give thanks and praise, For Thou hast given me wisdom and power; Even now Thou hast made known to me what we requested of Thee, For Thou hast made known to us the king's matter.'
Daniel gives thanks and praise to God who is the source of all things. God is eternal. He has always existed. He knows all that each one of us will think and do. Nothing comes as a surprise to Him because He knows all things before they happen. He has known all things since eternity past. He has made provision for all of our individual needs even before we know what it is that we need.
God has all wisdom and power. He is able to do all things that He wills. He has the information necessary to make the correct decisions. He has the authority and the power to execute all He desires. God is perfect and eternal.
God controls history. He knows and can change the times at His will. He places people into history in accordance with His plan for history and the human race, as well as the completion of the angelic conflict. Which by the way gave rise to human history. God appoints kings and removes them. He appointed you and I to our respective places in history. Through His foreknowledge of what we would think and do in our unique circumstances He place us into history at the proper time which would best benefit us with respect to our eternal existence.
He gives wisdom to those who have knowledge. He gives knowledge to those who have understanding. We learn by our daily study of Bible doctrine, through our learning we gain understanding of what it is that we have learned. By applying doctrine to our lives and through continued learning we gain knowledge and become even better oriented to life. Consequently we gain a an even higher level of wisdom as our comprehension and learning continue. As we learn we begin to sort out the information we have learned. We categorize the things we have learned and this helps us to better orient and to understand Bible doctrine. By sorting information out in our minds we are better organized in our thinking and our comprehension accelerates to even greater heights of understanding.
God reveals the profound, the secrets, the dark and the light things of life. Through doctrine and by our compliance with God prescribed methods of learning, we come to know and understand who we are and why we are in this world. Where the universe came from . Where Satan came from. What the angelic conflict is all about and how our role as humans confined to this planet in this remote and insignificant corner of the universe, enter in to the angelic conflict. And from all of this, what our destiny is for eternity.
Truth is Bible doctrine. Truth and light come into our life through our fellowship status with God. To God is due all our thanks. All that we are, all that we have, is courtesy of God and His plan for our individual lives as well as the plan for human and angelic history.
God gives each of us wisdom through Bible doctrine, and through wisdom, power, a sense of security and confidence in life. To all who are positive, God gives us His knowledge and through that knowledge, an orientation to life.
God revealed to Daniel the secrets of the dreams of the king. To you and me, God makes known the secrets of history, opening our eyes so that we can discern between the events in history which surround us. So that we can see the activities of others in this world and understand what they are doing and understand the direction that the world in general is taking. We could pray for one political leader or another, but even then we cannot know what their role might be for history overall. We need to pray for the best solution God will provide for the nation and the human race. To this end, God will respond with a firm 'yes'. We did not get the details of Daniel's initial prayer request. We did get the details of his thanksgiving however. The request if properly submitted will be answered. But more important is our faith and thankfulness that God will look out for our best interest regardless of His answer, whether yes or no.
Now is the time to post a prayer.
